I would turn on the lathe and it started up then the surge protection would trip and shut the unit off. About the second or third time I tried it, it completely shorted out and was DEAD. Luckily it didnt seem to harm my lathe.TrippLite customer service was very speedy in sending me another unit but wouldnt or couldnt explain why it died. They were happy to send me another unit but didnt seem very interested in helping me figure out why it wasnt working. The unit still couldnt handle the load from my lathe and after one try it shut off again, but it wasnt fried out like the first one and I wasnt going to try it anymore. So Ive never plugged my lathe into it again and had to spend more money on putting together another reliable power source for it. Sucks that the main thing I purchased it for was not able to use it.
