You will see advertisement for a protection guarantee for this product, but buyer beware. Warranty of the product is separate from the equipment protection policy, and to have a CHANCE of taking advantage of the latter requires that you mail the included card in, regardless of the fact that the company allows you to register your product's warranty online. This is the warranty for the surge protector - the equipment protection is a separate issue that they should call your attention to much more vigorously. If they need the card... say in red: NOTE! When I had a surge this past week and lost the HDMI video of my home receiver, I read the mice print. Too late - I lose. APC stands behind their products with an easy to deal with customer service group. In our situation, this one protector replaced 3 others we were using.
