I actually dont use the cable or phone outlets but they are there if you need them. It fits everything i need to plug in for my entertainment center and provides you with spaced outlets for those clunky adapters that take up space. Plus its 12 outlets so i have a few extra spots if i want to add anything and not have to worry about where i'll plug something in. 5 Stars! Twelve outlet surge, it is way more than I can imagine. The placing of the outlet are also great, Belkin put six outlet on the side for bigger surge. The only downside that I experienced is that the switch feel like cheap plastic, it is not sturdy at all. Other than that it is a great product! *I bought this item when it's on sale. Finally, I was able to find this baby and it has an 8' cord (awesome) and 12 outlets - this covers TV, Bluray player, Cable, Stereo, PC, etc all without the multi-set-up.
